The Northern School of Psychodrama was established in 1996 to provide training in psychodrama and action methods.
Our core training is underpinned by the Person Centred Approach and ours is the only psychodrama training in the UK based on that theoretical orientation.
Focusing on the benefits of student-centred learning we are working towards collaborative learning community.
We run a comprehensive calendar of psychodrama training events through the year and welcome participants from all backgrounds to our open weekends and residentials. NSP also invites guest trainers to facilitate some of our open workshops (see Workshops and Events).
The Northern School of Psychodrama is committed to a policy of equal opportunity and welcomes applications from those interested in learning to use action methods and psychodrama in the various settings of group psychotherapy, individual therapies and training / education.
Applications from people of any ethnicity, nationality, sex, faith community, gender identity, sexuality, age, class background and physical ability are welcome. NSP recognises that some groups are under-represented in psychotherapy training and endeavours to increase and support the involvement of those who have been traditionally marginalised.
The Northern School aims to make psychodrama training available over a wide geographical area and training events are held in a number of areas - currently York, Hull, Glasgow and Northumberland.
We currently offer training at Certificate and Higher Certificate level. Applicants for our training workshops and programmes will need to meet the requirements of enhanced Disclosure Scotland / enhanced DBS checks.
